I giorni della settimana – days of the week
In Italy, Monday is considered the first day of the week and the weekend is sabato and domenica.
The days of the week are capitalized only if they are at the beginning of the sentence:
Ex. Lunedì è un giorno noioso= Monday is a boring day.
Ex. Oggi è lunedì= Today is Monday.
The gender of all days is masculine except for la domenica that is feminine.
The plural form:
– The days with the accent on the last vowel keep the same form in the plural
Example: Il lunedì – i lunedì
– Sabato and domenica follow the general rule
Example: il sabato – i sabati / la domenica – le domeniche
