 How to read the date

In Italian the date is expressed using DD/MM/YYYY and it is read with cardinal numbers

Esempio:

  • Oggi è il 12 maggio 2022 (dodici maggio duemilaventidue)
  • io sono nata il 5 aprile 1985 (I was born on…) (cinque aprile millenovecentoottantacinque)
  • il mio compleanno è il 5 aprile (my birthday is…)

Only for the first day of the month we use the ordinal number PRIMO.

  • Esempio: Oggi è il 1 marzo 2022 (Today is…) (primo marzo duemilaventidue)
