Il condizionale presente

Il condizionale si usa per esprimere qualcosa che può realizzarsi solo a certe condizioni, o per esprimere un desiderio, un dubbio, un consiglio o una richiesta. I tempi sono solo due, il presente e il passato.

NB: The irregular verbs have the same irregular roots that you studied to form the future in Unit 8!

Esempi di uso: 

Purtroppo il tempo fa brutto, altrimenti andrei al parco. (Unfortunately the weather is bad, otherwise I would go to the park.) 

Potremmo vederci questo fine settimana, speriamo bene! (We could see each other this weekend, let’s hope for it!)

Scusa, mi potresti dire l’ora? (Excuse me, could you tell me the time?)

Signore, vorrebbe questo posto? (Would you like this seat, sir?)

Telefonerei a mia sorella, ma so che sta lavorando adesso. (I would call my sister, but I know she’s working right now.)
