Let’s see what the situation is in Croatia when talking about school meals (Cro. školski obrok).

Školski obrok u Hrvatskoj

U hrvatskim osnovnim i srednjim školama nema kantine i učenici nose doručak ili ručak sa sobom. Ako ne nose obrok sa sobom, onda obično nešto kupe za jesti. Roditelji im daju novac da nešto kupe. Često u osnovnim školama roditelji mogu platiti da im djeca imaju obrok. To je obično neki sok, sendvič, neko pecivo ili mala pizza.

Sjedinjene Američke Države (SAD)

Often in the U.S. students might have lunch in school. However, sometimes students bring their own lunch. Let’s discuss these two options. What would you say to your international friend about these two situations?

We already talked about international food and drinks. Tell us more about what you have already tried, what you want to try, and what you don’t like.

  • Koje jelo nipošto ne želiš jesti? Zašto?
  • Ima li u tvom gradu restoran tvoje omiljene međunarodne kuhinje?

Look at the map and answer the questions. Pivo je vrlo popularno piće u Europi. Ljudi konzumiraju pivo skoro na dnevnoj bazi. Koji građani piju više ili manje piva?

8.3.2 Zadatak 4: Intervju

Meet with one of your classmates and ask them a series of questions about eating habits, favorite food, cuisine, and drinks. Try to get a sense of their preferences, likes and dislikes. At the end of the interview, discuss how similar/different you both are. Refer to the answers that you collected when making a statement.
