8.3.1 Zadatak 1: Mario

📖 Read the text and answer the questions.

Mario making dinner

Mario priprema večeru za prijatelje i mora ići u trgovinu. Želi kupiti sira, pršuta, salame, kiselih krastavaca i maslina. Za predjelo planira skuhati juhu od povrća, a za prilog mediteransku salatu. On možda napravi i komišku pogaču. Također, Mario treba vina, piva, čaja, sokova, fante i Coca-cole.

Komiška pogača

Mario never tried to make komiška pogača before. He is not sure what he needs for the recipe. You found a recipe online, together with instructions on how to make it. Watch YouTube video and let Mario know what he needs to buy. Here are some of the ingredients Mario already knows he needs (you don’t need to list these). Začini: sol, papar, origano, vegeta, šećer.

Juha

Mario nije siguran koju juhu skuhati. Ima dva recepta i nije siguran koji je bolji. Look at the ingredients for each soup. Which one do you like more? Which one should Mario make? Why?

Juha od mrkve

  • mrkva, brokula, ulje, papar, sol, češnjak, peršin

Juha od špinata

  • jogurt, sol, ulje, papar, špinat, mrkva, brašno

8.3.1 Zadatak 2: Petrina čokoladna torta

Although Petra (Mario’s sister) won’t make her favorite chocolate cake for Mario, let’s investigate her recipe. What does she need for the cake? Search online for how much each item costs. Take a screenshot of your shopping cart with all the ingredients. What’s the total cost? Submit your screenshot through our Learning Management System.

8.3.1 Zadatak 3. Tradicionalna jela

In today’s class you encountered several traditional items. Previously, we discussed what komiška pogača is. Now it’s your turn to investigate further. Search online for a recipe and write the ingredients for one of them. No need to write the exact amount, list only the necessary ingredients (for example: Trebamo jaja, mlijeka, brašna, etc.).

  • From what area does soparnik come from?
  • What cultural identity do both dishes represent (komiška pogača nad soparnik)?
  • What values do people try to preserve by promoting these items as traditional?
  • Would you like to try them? Why?
  • Does your city, state, or region have any dishes that are considered traditional in the same context as komiška pogača and soparnik? What values do they promote in your city, state, or region?
  • What is the importance of the dish that you found and labeled as a traditional Croatian dish?
  • What additional information would you like to know when talking about food?
