Cjelina 3: Moja obitelj
🧩 3 | 2 | Lekcija 2: Podrijetlo – Vokabular
Svijet pisama
How many languages can you recognize just by looking at their letters? Maybe you’ve seen Korean symbols, Chinese characters, or the shapes of the Greek alphabet on a T-shirt, a tattoo, or a restaurant sign. Each writing system tells a story about the people who use it, the history behind it, and the culture it represents.
In this lesson, we’re going on a short journey through the world of writing. Along the way, you’ll learn how to describe what belongs to which language or culture. Let’s take a look at some familiar and unfamiliar scripts from around the world and learn how to talk about them in Croatian.
3.2.2 Zadatak 1: Pismo
Look at the pictures and answer the questions.
Zastave svijeta
Flags are more than just colors and patterns. They tell stories about history, culture, language, and identity. When you see a red and white checkered flag, you might think of Croatia. A red circle on a white background? Japan. Flags are symbols — and each one belongs to a country with its own unique story.
In this lesson, we’ll explore flags from around the world. Whose flag is it? What country does it belong to? Get ready to match flags with countries and learn how to say things like hrvatska zastava, španjolska zastava, or brazilska zastava.
| Država | Država | Država | Država |
|---|---|---|---|
| Belgija | Italija | Slovenija | Rusija |
| Srbija | Ukrajina | Kanada | Kina |
| Brazil | Irska | Švedska | Bugarska |
| Španjolska | Malta | Češka | Norveška |
| Njemačka | Grčka | Slovačka | Meksiko |
Note: *The list of the chosen countries is made for language purposes and it is not based on any political or religious grounds and/or preferences.
Jezici svijeta
Every flag tells a story, and so does every language. In the previous section, we looked at the flags of different countries. Now we’re turning our attention to the languages spoken in those countries. From hrvatski jezik to kineski jezik, every language has its own sound, rhythm, and challenges.
In this section, we’ll explore the world of languages, and you’ll have a chance to say which language you think is easier or harder. You already know how to say the Croatian flag. Now you’ll apply the same grammatical structure to talk about languages (Croatian language, English language). Let’s dive in and take a trip through the world of languages!
3.2.2 Zadatak 2: Koji je jezik lakši/teži?
Express your opinion about languages. Which one is harder/easier to learn? What do you think? Look at the two flags combined together and provide your answers. Here is one example for you.
Koji je jezik lakši/teži? (There are two ways to answer the question.)
- Mislim da je francuski jezik lakši nego arapski jezik.
- Mislim da je arapski jezik teži nego francuski jezik.
3.2.2 Zadatak 3: Čije je?
Look at the following pictures (top, left to right) and write where they come from (i.e., the origin).
