🗣️ 3 | 1 | Lekcija 3: Braća i sestre

Reci mi, koga imaš?

Time to do some digging! 📚✍️ Laura has a big assignment coming up for her language class. She has to give a presentation about someone’s family, and what better way to prepare than to interview a friend? She calls Mario to ask if he’ll help out, and he’s more than happy to talk. As Laura begins her interview, she starts learning more and more about Mario’s family. The conversation keeps growing, and the family tree really starts to branch out!

Besides Laura’s discoveries about Mario’s family, we’ll also take a closer look at Luka’s family—James’s good friend from Split. Ready to meet more of our Croatian friends and learn about their families?

3.1.3 Zadatak 5: Moja braća i sestre

🗣️ Razgovor

In-class conversation

🧑‍🏫 This section is intended for in-class discussion. If you’re not participating in the class, take a moment to reflect on the questions and think about how you would respond if someone asked you these questions in a real conversation.

3.1.3 Zadatak 6: Koga imaš?

Talk with two of your classmates and ask them about family members. Write down their existing family members and their names. You will need to present your findings to your instructor. Here is an example for you.

💬 Imaš li brata?

  • Da, imam brata. Zove ze Marko. (or)
  • Ne, nemam brata. (or)
  • Ne, nemam brata, ali imam sestru. Zove se Mirela.

❓ Questions to ask:

  • Imaš li — brata, sestru, mamu, tatu, muža, ženu, bratića, sestrićnu…?
  • Kako se zove tvoj [brat] / tvoja [sestra] / tvoje [dijete]?

3.1.3 Zadatak 7: Moja obitelj

Now you will have a chance to talk about your own family using the dialog above as a model. Grab a picture of your family that you will describe. Do not write down any other information. This picture is intended as a visual guide for you to use while describing your family. Describe your family to your partner using as much vocabulary as you can. It is fine to repeat information and to point to your picture to clarify the person about whom you are talking.

❗ If you do not feel comfortable sharing your personal picture with the rest of the class/your classmate, use an online picture. Find one that at least closely represents your real family structure.
