Ines i njezina obitelj

Today you will work on your own. You will learn more about Ines and her family members. Ines and James are on their way to the island of Brač. As you remember, Ines invited James to spend a weekend with her and her family. On their way to Brač, while on the ferry, Ines is showing James pictures of her family members that she has in her phone. Together with James, learn more about Ines and her family.

What’s coming?

You will listen to several dialogues and you will complete a set of tasks for each dialogue. This will prepare you for our next class session when you will need to talk about your own family. During our next class session, you will also need to talk to other classmates and learn more about them and their family members. For that reason, it is important that you practice and learn this new vocabulary today.

The terminology (i.e., vocabulary) that will be covered comes from Ines and her perspective. Thus, it will be easy for you to adopt the vocabulary when you talk about yourself.

There are some differences in terminology when we talk about family members, depending on whether we are talking about relatives on the mom’s or dad’s side. You will expand your vocabulary further and you will learn more about Ines’ dad and his side of the family. As in the previous sections, you are learning the terminology based on Ines and her perspective. This will help you reuse the vocabulary when you talk about yourself.
