Laura has been enjoying her time in Croatia, but her curiosity doesn’t stop at the border. With so many nearby countries, each with its own rhythm and flavor, how could she not explore more? This weekend, she’s heading to Bosnia and Herzegovina for a solo getaway. A new country, a different pace, and a cultural blend that feels both familiar and brand new. From strong coffee and sevdah music to Ottoman architecture and warm welcomes, Laura’s ready to explore something different—on her own terms.

🧑‍🏫 This section is intended for in-class discussion. If you’re not participating in the class, take a moment to reflect on the questions and think about how you would respond if someone asked you these questions in a real conversation.

2.3.2 Zadatak 1: Tvoji interesi

Talk to your classmates and find out what they like to do in their free time. When you collect information from all of your classmates, see who you have the most in common with. When you are done, you will present your findings to your instructor. You should use the following structure:

  • U slobodno vrijeme [on/ona] …
  • [James] i ja smo dobra kombinacija! Mi volimo [slušati muziku], [čitati knjige] i volimo ići [u muzej].

2.3.2 Zadatak 2: Što za vikend?

1️⃣  Work with the classmate you had the most in common with from the previous task. Ask each other about what you want to do for the weekend. Name at least 5 things you want to do. Example:

Q: Što ti želiš raditi za vikend? — A: Ja želim ići [u muzej]

When writing the answers that your classmate tells you, you should start the sentence with: [James] želi…

Što on/ona želi radit?

  • James želi ići u muzej.
  • Laura želi ići u kazalište.

2️⃣  Based on the answers that you have collected, list appropriate places in your city where you can take your friend. Provide at least two options for each day. Follow the example:

U četvrtak mi idemo u muzej gledati izložbu. Muzej se zove Muzej iluzija.

  • u petak mi idemo …
  • u subotu mi idemo…
  • u nedjelju mi idemo…

3️⃣ Present your ideas to your classmate. See if they agree with your choice. Follow the example:

Što kažeš da ovaj vikend idem u kazalište pogledati predstavu?

  •  Da, dobra ideja! Želim ići u kazalište. —or—
  • Ne, ne želim ići u kazalište.

‼️ Remember

If your classmate does not agree, ask where he/she wants to go. – Kamo želiš ići? Write the final weekend schedule based on what you both agreed on.

Laura:  Sljedeći vikend planiram ići u Bosnu i Hercegovinu.
Mario: Baš dobro. A zašto u Bosnu i Hercegovinu, a ne u neki drugi grad u Hrvatskoj?
Laura:  Mislim da je to lijepa i zanimljiva zemlja. Arhitektura je jako zanimljiva.
Mario: Istina, Bosna i Hercegovina ima bogatu povijest.
Laura:  Ali nisam sigurna kamo ići, u Sarajevo ili u Mostar?
Mario: I Sarajevo i Mostar su zanimljivi gradovi. Što želiš vidjeti ili posjetiti?
Laura:  Želim posjetiti muzeje, galerije, trgove, probati neku tradicionalnu hranu i možda vidjeti prirodne ljepote.
Mario: Teško pitanje, moram malo razmisliti. A kada planiraš ići u Bosnu i Hercegovinu?
Laura:  Planiram naći autobus za petak ujutro.
Mario: Ako ideš u Sarajevo, obavezno moraš posjetiti Muzej Sarajeva. Znam da se muzej otvara u subotu u 10:00, a zatvara u 15:00. U nedjelju muzej ne radi.

Search online for potential places that could fit Laura’s interest. Choose Sarajevo or Mostar. For each of her points of interest (listed below), find at least two locations. Fill in the chart with appropriate information.
