The Meaning of “both”
To express the meaning of both in Croatian, we can use the following structure:
masculine ➕ masculine 🟰 OBA
- Mi oba volimo aktivni odmor. (Luka and James)
- We both like active vacation.
feminine ➕ feminine 🟰 OBJE
- Mi obje volimo gastronomski turizam. (Matija and Ines)
- We both like gastro tourism.
masculine ➕ feminine 🟰 OBOJE
- Mi oboje volimo nautički turizam. (Ines and Luka)
- We both like nautical tourism.

Complete the sentences by using the correct form of both.
Where Things Are – Position
When talking where certain things/items/people are located (i.e., positioned), we usually use the following prepositions:
- između = between
- ispred = in front of
- iza = behind
- ispod = under
- iznad = above
- pored/pokraj = next to
- lijevo od = left from
- desno od = right from
All these prepositions will take the Genitive Case. Look at the two examples.
Gdje se nalazi stolica? — Stolica se nalazi ispred…
- [masculine] stol-a
- [feminine] polic-e
- [neuter] ogledal-a
Gdje se nalazi stolica? — Stolica se nalazi između…
- [masculine] prozor-ā
- [feminine] stolic-ā
- [neuter] ogledal-ā
