  • Understand and use idiomatic phrases.

  • Discuss similarities and differences between life in Croatia and the USA.
  • Express your views on poverty, wealth, unemployment, and social issues.
  • Talk about your dreams, goals, and plans for the future.
  • Describe what kind of job you want and where you would like to live.
  • Compare the education systems in Croatia and the USA.
  • Use vocabulary related to work, education, employers, and personal qualities.
  • Share your opinion about good and bad employers and working conditions.
  • Discuss positive and negative personal traits.
  • Express your professional ambitions and the balance between work and free time.
  • Identify professions of the past, present, and future.

  • Conditional clauses in Croatian: how to express conditions and results.
    • Real conditionals (possible situations)
    • Hypothetical conditionals (imagined situations)
    • Unreal conditionals (contrary to fact, impossible in the present or past)
  • Present tense of verbs ending in –nuti
  • Verbs ending in –ati that undergo consonant + j changes
  • Noun changes in plural and locative forms: k, g, h → c, z, s
