This guide was originally delivered as a training workshop developed by Kristen Procko, Josh Beckham, Henry Jakubowski, Walter Novak, and Roderico Acevedo, supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) under grant RCN-UBE #1920270.*

In 2025, members of a working group began planning a BioMolViz spin-off project related to instructional materials. Prior to the execution of the new project, this team revisited the instructor training materials described above, adapting them into this book. The working group modernized them to include recent updates to modeling programs, added chapters to better serve the instructor less familiar with visualization, and wrote new materials to integrate Mol* activities. The working group members are featured below.
