L’artiste: Rachid Taha

Rachid Taha was an Algerian singer and musician known for fusing Arabic music with Western rock, punk, and electronic styles. Born in Algeria in 1958, he moved to France as a child and later formed the band Carte de Séjour, known for their politically charged music and a controversial Arabic cover of the French song “Douce France“. He later pursued a successful solo career, continuing to blend diverse musical genres like raï, rock, and reggae, and to address social and political issues in his work.
