Part 1. Э́то челове́к.
Study the picture above and read through the following sentences. What do you think they mean?
*Note, the ‘г’ in the word ‘него’ is pronounced as [v], just like in the word ‘его’.
Think about Oleg and what we could say about him:
У него́ голова́.
He has a head.
У него́ глаза́*.
He has eyes.
У него́ нос.
He has a nose.
У него́ ру́ки*.
He has hands.
У него́ во́лосы?
Does he have hair?
*глаза́ – ‘eyes’ is an irregular masculine plural; singular is ‘глаз‘
*рука́ – ‘hand / arm’ really refers to both your hand and your arm

Personal Pronouns in the Genitive case after the preposition ‘у’:
Singular | Plural | |
1st | у меня́ ‘I have’ | у нас ‘We have’ |
2nd | у тебя́ ‘You have’ | у вас ‘You (all) have’ |
3rd | у него́ / у неё ‘He / She has’ | у них ‘They have’ |
*The third person pronouns (н)его́, (н)её, (н)их are spelled with an ‘н’ after prepositions, like ‘у’, otherwise these prepositions occur in the Accusative and Genitive cases as его́, её, их.
