Настоя́щая речь

This is a good time to learn a few classroom survival phrases.

Watch the following video for some tips on what to say in class. You may find yourself using these phrases A LOT. After the video, you will see all phrases and their meaning written out for you.

Some of what I said (and more) is below. Are you able to read them all aloud?

Russian English
Здра́вствуйте! Hello!
Приве́т! Hi!
До свида́ния! Goodbye!
Пока́! Bye!
Я не понима́ю по-русски. I don’t understand Russian.
Я не по́нял. // Я не поняла́. I don’t understand (something someone said).
У меня́ (есть) вопро́с. I have a question.
Мо́жно спроси́ть? May I ask (something)?
Что зна́чит … ? What does … mean? (I didn’t actually say this one but it’s extremely useful.)
Повтори́те, пожа́луйста. Repeat (that), please.
Ещё раз? Once more? / Come again? / What’s that?
Как сказа́ть по-ру́сски … ? How do you say … in Russian?
Помоги́те мне, пожа́луйста. Help me, please.
Пра́вильно. (That’s) correct / right.
Непра́вильно. (That’s) not correct / right.
